Discovery Channel and Bank of America Hit a Brand Homerun with Planet Earth

LogoDiscovery Communications, owners of leading brands such as the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, just to name a few, has hit a home run with its Planet Earth series. One of the highest quality nature productions ever, this series is a huge brand hit for Discovery Channel and its main sponsor, Bank Of America.

Mhd_reg_logo_2I believe this is an example of the future of advertising – incredible content with a lead sponsor and short, effective advertising. The holistic nature of the Bank of America sponsorship, along with its non-intrusive ads, makes the entire experience of the Planet Earth programming wonderfully effective. Notice the integration of the broadcast programming with the website (www.planet-earth.com) and how the sponsorship is integrated throughout the on-line experience. It is really a first class job.

If you have not yet seen the programming, you have to experience it – and only in high-definition. If you don’t have a HDTV, go to a friend’s house – it makes all of the difference for this experience.
